Free lunchtime CPD seminar – ‘Preparing for trial’

On Thursday, 20 October 2016 the Supreme Court and County Court of Victoria will host a free CPD lunchtime seminar entitled, ‘Preparing for trial - Getting the most out of your barrister, getting the most out of your solicitor’.

Justice Rita Zammit, the Judge in Charge of the Supreme Court’s Personal Injuries and Dust Diseases Lists, and Chief Judge Peter Kidd, the Chief Judge in charge of the County Court, will chair a panel of speakers to discuss court craft and pre-trial preparation.

The panel will provide tips on briefing counsel, conferencing with witnesses, and pre-trial document preparation in the context of personal injury matters. Speakers include Jeremy Ruskin QC and leading medical negligence lawyer, Lara Larking.

General court etiquette and conduct will also be addressed.

The seminar is primarily aimed at newer members of the profession, however more experienced practitioners wishing to update their knowledge are also encouraged to attend.
