Civil List
The Listing Associate Judge is responsible for allocating hearing dates of Civil trials and applications before the Judges in the Supreme Court and the drawing up, maintenance and co-ordination of various civil lists of such cases. The Listing Associate Judge also ensures to the greatest extent possible the smooth flow of proceedings to trial and maximises the efficient use of Judges' time, of courts, and of other resources of the Court.

Directions Dates and Times
Any civil proceeding requiring a directions hearing for pre-trial directions and/or fixing for hearing can be scheduled on any Tuesday in the court sitting period in Court 4, 434 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000 before the Listing Associate Judge.
Confirmation of Civil Hearing Dates
In order to confirm hearing dates in the Civil List, a Callover Form will be faxed by the Listing Associate Judge’s staff to all parties for completion.
Callover Form
The Form will be faxed approximately four weeks before the hearing date and is to be completed and returned to the Listing Associate Judge's office by facsimile (Fax No. 9603 9320) within 48 hours of receipt.
If the Form is not returned by the required time, the Court may:
1. Vacate the hearing date of the proceeding; and/or
2. List the proceeding for a Directions Hearing before the Listing Associate Judge.
Any application by any party to vacate a hearing date must be made by summons returnable before the Listing Associate Judge on a date to be organised with the Listing Associate Judge's associate.

Deadlines for Filing
Parties should adhere to Court Orders and the Rules in relation to deadlines. An application should be made to the Listing Associate Judge if parties are seeking an extension of time for compliance if extension is not consented to by the other parties. See also Rule 3.02(3) which states "Unless the Court otherwise orders, any time fixed by these Rules or by any order fixing, extending or abridging time may be extended by consent without an order of the Court".
