Major Torts List
This List manages tort litigation from the point of issue to referral to the Civil List for fixing for trial. It is not a hearing List. The Judges-in-Charge supervises the overall running of the List. The Associate Judge presides over directions hearings and most interlocutory applications. The aim of the List is to ensure the efficient and expeditious progress of matters through the interlocutory stage of litigation. It also manages related proceedings with the aim of providing a unified approach to resolving proceedings arising out of a single event or raising common issues of law.
