Court file and litigation search requests are changing

The Supreme Court of Victoria is changing the way court file search requests and litigation search requests are made with the launch of eAccess on 7 December 2020

eAccess is a new electronic search function that will enable Court users to apply and pay for court file search and litigation search requests in one, online location.

Integrated with the Court’s eFiling system (RedCrest), eAccess aims to extend the digital experience for Court users.

How will eAccess work?

When a member of the legal profession, the media or the general public wish to conduct a court file or litigation search, they will do so through RedCrest, rather than in person or via email. This will apply for all file and litigation search requests other than those in relation to Probate files, for which existing processes will continue.

Upon payment of a fee and acceptance of the request, users will gain access to requested documents or search results by email, mail or downloadable link.

More information coming soon

Further information and resources will be made available ahead of the launch of eAccess on 7 December 2020 to allow Court users to become familiar with the new system.
