The Supreme Court's annual report was tabled in Parliament on 4 December 2025.

Points of interest include: 

  • Overall case numbers across the Court increased by 9.6 per cent. Notably, civil cases brought before the Court of  increased by 17.1 per cent. 
  • The Criminal Division delivered a clearance rate of 168 per cent. Fast-track committals continue to reduce overall case duration, with an average of 4.1 months saved from date of charge to finalisation for fast-tracked committals. 
  • In the Civil Division,   saved 1,484 trial days, and millions of dollars in legal  for litigants. Mediations in the Costs Court saved a further 381 days. 
  • The number of hearings in the Associate Judges’ Chambers Applications List and Specialist Lists grew by 26.4 per cent to 10,747 hearings since last year.
