The Court’s Probate Office provides information and assistance for applications for a grant of probate or administration. It deals with all applications made in Victoria and keeps a register of all grants issued by the Court and all wills deposited with the Court for safekeeping.
There are some questions that applicants usually ask when enquiring about probate. You can find those questions and answers in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
A probate glossary is also available to support users applying for a grant of representation. These terms have a specific meaning when used in the context of probate.
For more about how to apply, visit our applying for a grant of probate or administration page.
If you are ready to apply for a grant of representation, you can make an application via the Court’s eFiling system, RedCrest-Probate. For more information and guidance, including video tutorials on using the system, visit the help section in RedCrest-Probate.
