The parties to the Bonsoy class action agreed to settle in November 2014.
The application for the Court's approval of the Bonsoy class action settlement was heard before Justice J Forrest on 25 February 2015. On 7 May 2015, his Honour approved the settlement. At a case management conference on 16 December 2017, his Honour made orders for initial distribution from the Settlement Distribution Fund to group members.

The settlement scheme, which sets out in detail the process for assessing individual claims and the manner in which the settlement sum will be distributed.
Case schedule
This matter will be listed for a case management conference once related proceedings in the Federal Court have been finalised. The practitioners will advise the Court when the case management conference is required.
Court supervision of the settlement distribution process
Since the terms of the settlement were approved, the Court has held case management conferences to supervise the settlement distribution process.
