Information on the hearing in the matter of Abdullah Chaarani, Ahmed Mohamed and Hatim Moukhaiber v The Queen

The Court of Appeal (Justice Phillip Priest, Justice Stephen Kaye and Justice Terry Forrest) heard applications for leave to appeal and appeals against conviction by Abdullah Chaarani, Ahmed Mohamed & Hatim Moukhaiber on 19 and 20 March 2020.

Abdullah Chaarani, Ahmed Mohamed & Hatim Moukhaiber were sentenced on 24 July 2019 after being found guilty by a jury of offences connected with terrorist attacks upon the Imam Ali Islamic Centre.

Judgment in these matters was handed down on 17 April 2020.  In each case, leave to appeal against conviction was granted, but the appeals were dismissed.
