Fees payable to the Court are provided for by the Supreme Court (Fees) Regulations 2018. Those regulations provide for fees by reference to fee units within the meaning of the Monetary Units Act 2004.

The value of a fee unit is fixed by the Treasurer under section 5 of the Monetary Units Act 2004, and for the financial year commencing 1 July 2021 has been fixed at $15.03. The amount of the fee payable under the Supreme Court (Fees) Regulations 2018 is calculated by multiplying the number of fee units specified in those regulations by the value of a fee unit.
