Court opening hours over Christmas and New Years

The Court will be closed on the following public holidays: 

• Thursday 25 December 2025 (Christmas Day) 
• Friday 26 December 2025 (Boxing Day) 
• Thursday 1 January 2026 (New Year’s Day).

Except during public holidays, the Registry remains open. Services supporting urgent matters and applications will continue as usual. Find out more about urgent applications. 

 Access to Supreme Court buildings 

• 210 William St Entrance: reduced opening hours from 22 December 2025 until 23 January 2026 (inclusive). Opening hours of 9am to 5pm.
• Court of Appeal Entrance: closed from 29 December 2025 to 2 January 2026 (inclusive). To be opened as required (i.e., court hearing scheduled).
• 485 Lonsdale St Entrance: closed from 22 December 2025 until Friday 16 January 2026 (inclusive). 
• Old High Court: No change. Entrance opening hours of 9am to 5pm will continue.

The Supreme Court Library is closed until 9am Monday 19 January 2026. Library assistance is available online 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday (except on public holidays). The Digital Library is always open at lawlibrary.vic.gov.au.
