The appeal hearings in relation to the matter of Director of Public Prosecutions v Erin Patterson will be publicly livestreamed.
The two appeals are an appeal by the DPP against the sentence imposed, and an appeal by Erin Patterson for the Court of Appeal to review and overturn the findings of guilt from the trial (an appeal against conviction).
The Court of Appeal will livestream the appeals on Wednesday 19 August and Thursday 20 August beginning at 10.15am each day.

Following a jury trial which ran from April to July last year, Ms Patterson was found guilty of murdering her parents-in-law Don and Gail Patterson and her aunt-in-law Heather Wilkinson. She was also found guilty of the attempted murder of her uncle-in-law Ian Wilkinson.
Justice Christopher Beale sentenced Erin Patterson on Monday 8 September 2025 to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 33 years.

The DPP has filed an appeal against sentence, specifically in relation to the fixing of a non-parole period or the length of that non-parole period.
Ms Patterson has filed an application for leave to appeal against conviction on seven grounds.
