RedCrest Probate will soon introduce system improvements to strengthen security and provide clearer guidance for users.
A more secure login process
From Friday 8 May 2026, RedCrest Probate will include multi factor authentication as part of the login process.
After entering a username and password, users will be emailed a request to enter a one time verification code.
This enhancement provides an additional layer of protection for user accounts and sensitive information accessed through the system.
A short video will be available to guide users through the updated login experience.
Planned system outage
To support these enhancements, RedCrest Probate will be unavailable from 5.30pm to 830pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Users are encouraged to plan ahead. No new advertisements, applications or further filings can be submitted during the outage.
Updated Terms of Use
The RedCrest Probate Terms of Use have been updated to better reflect how the system is used. The updated terms clearly set out user responsibilities from Friday 8 May 2026.
Key updates include:
- Formal recognition of users from organisations including law practices and trustee companies.
- Clearer guidance on shared access within organisations, supporting efficient workflows when team members are unavailable.
- Greater clarity around security and account management responsibilities.
All active registered RedCrest Probate users will be notified by email of the updated Terms of Use and provided with a copy for reference. The updated Terms of Use will also be available on the Supreme Court of Victoria website from the date they take effect.
Firms not currently using organisational accounts are encouraged to consider this option , as it may reduce the need for access requests within the same organisation. An organisational account is an account created by a firm or trustee company using a shared email address, for example vasb@cergraqynjsvez.pbz.nhua.moc.mrifwaldneterp@ofni .
