Victoria’s Solicitor-General, Rowena Orr KC, has been appointed as judge of the Court of Appeal.

The Victorian Government today announced the appointment of Rowena Orr KC to the Court of Appeal, effective 18 April 2024.

Ms Orr was appointed as Victoria’s Solicitor-General in 2021. As Solicitor-General, Ms Orr appeared in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Federal Court in a wide variety of cases, involving constitutional, administrative, criminal and commercial matters.

Prior to taking on the role of Solicitor-General, Ms Orr practised as a barrister for almost two decades, appearing in significant and complex cases for corporate entities, individuals and the state and Commonwealth governments. 

The Court congratulates and warmly welcomes Ms Orr. Details regarding a welcome ceremony will be provided at a later date.
