The Honourable Justice Amanda Chambers has also been appointed Chief Judge of the County Court.
On Tuesday 27 May 2025 Justice Chambers was appointed to both the Supreme Court, and as Chief Judge of the County Court of Victoria.
This is the first simultaneous appointment of a judge to both the Court, and as Chief Judge of the County Court.
Chief Judge Chambers joined the County Court as a judge on 9 June 2015. Her Honour was appointed as the President of the Children’s Court on this date. She held this position until 2021.
Chief Judge Chambers served as a Magistrate for over eight years before joining the County Court. During this time, her Honour was Supervising Magistrate of the Sexual Offences List for three years.
