The Honourable Justice Cameron Macaulay has today been appointed as a judge in the Court of Appeal.

Justice Macaulay comes to the role with extensive experience as a judge and legal practitioner, having worked across high profile criminal and civil matters.

Justice Macaulay was a judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria from 2010 to 2022, sitting primarily in the Common Law Division. During that time, his Honour also served as Judge in Charge of the Court’s Professional Liability List, and chaired several committees including the Supreme Court Library Committee, Law Library of Victoria Committee and the Council of Law Reporting in Victoria.

Prior to joining the Court in 2010, Justice Macaulay was a barrister at the Victorian Bar for almost 30 years and was appointed to senior counsel in 2003.

The Court warmly congratulates Justice Macaulay on his appointment, which takes effect today.
