The Honourable Justice Melinda Richards was appointed a judge of the Court of Appeal on 13 May 2025.
Justice Richards was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court of
Victoria in April 2018.
Her Honour presided over cases in the Common Law Division.
Justice Richards has more than 30 years of experience in the law. She became a solicitor in 1993, and joined the Victorian Bar in 1996.
Prior to her Honour’s appointment to the Supreme Court in 2018, she served as Crown Counsel since 2015.
The Court warmly congratulates Justice Richards on her appointment, taking effect Tuesday 13 May 2025.
