The trial in the matter of Konstantin Kontis & Vesna Kos v Coroners Court of Victoria & Attorney-General for the State of Victoria (S ECI 2022 00252) ran on 23 and 24 June 2022. Judgment was reserved and was handed down on 1 August 2022 at 9:30am.

The plaintiffs in this matter sought an order quashing the decision of the Coroners Court of Victoria to require the plaintiffs to give evidence in the Inquest into Deaths of Residents at St Basil's Home for the Aged, and further or alternatively, a declaration that the decision was invalid and of no force or effect. The plaintiffs also sought an order restraining the defendants from requiring the plaintiffs to give evidence in the inquest.
