Summary of the Court of Appeal's judgment delivered 7 March 2018.

The Court of Appeal has today refused to grant leave to appeal against sentences for various offences including armed robbery, false imprisonment, burglary, handling stolen goods and offending while on parole. In respect of two separate armed robberies, the applicant was sentenced to terms of imprisonment of six years and five years. In rejecting the applicant’s applications for leave to appeal, the court said these sentences imposed on the applicant raised what appeared to be a serious question of inadequate sentencing for armed robbery.
