The Court welcomes the appointments of Justice Lisa Hannon and Justice Robert Craig.

The Supreme Court welcomes the appointments of Justice Lisa Hannon and Justice Robert Craig as judges of the Court, effective 12 August 2025.

Justice Hannon will join the Common Law Division and Justice Craig will serve in the Commercial Court.

Justice Hannon’s almost 30-year legal career included specialising in public infrastructure, private property rights and land matters. Her Honour took silk in 2020 and was Vice President of the Victorian Bar. Justice Hannon was also a nationally accredited mediator and served on the AFL Tribunal Counsel panel, having appeared in numerous AFL and AFLW hearings and appeals.

Justice Craig signed the Bar Roll in 2006 and took silk in 2019. His Honour’s 20-year career as a barrister included trial and appeal work in class actions, insolvency, and construction and commercial litigation. He also acted in the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry and the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide. Justice Craig previously served as associate to Justice Elizabeth Hollingworth, who retired last year.

The Court congratulates Justice Hannon and Justice Craig on their appointments.

Details of their welcome ceremonies will be provided at a later date.
