This is a group proceeding (class action) brought against Entain Group Pty Ltd which provides betting and wagering services through the Ladbrokes and Neds brands.
The class action is brought on behalf of persons who have placed one or more bets with Entain using the Fast Code Service from 4 March 2019 to 4 March 2025 and suffered loss or damage arising from their bets with Entain using the Fast Code Service.
It is contended that Entain through the Fast Code provided an in-play betting service pursuant to Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth) (IGA), that was not wholly by way of a telephone betting service. It is alleged that Entain’s Fast Code service contravened the IGA as it allowed customers to input information about the bet via the Neds or Ladbrokes app and/or website, with the customer then prompted to initiate a call to Entain to place the bet.
It is alleged that by representing that the Fast Code service was lawfully provided, Entain engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct under the Australian Consumer Law and breached its Fast Code service terms and conditions.
Entain denies the substance of the allegations.
Important Information about Opting Out
If you are, or you think that you may be a group member, you should read the documents below carefully. The definition of a "group member" is set out in the Notice.
The Notice (a copy of which is below) contains important information about your rights to:
(1) opt out of the proceeding; or
(2) do nothing
In summary, if you fall within the definition of a group member, you have two options:
OPTION 1 - OPT OUT
If you do not want your rights determined by the class action you must opt out by 4:00pm (AEDT) on 8 October 2026.
To opt out, you must either:
- complete the online opt out form; or
- complete the opt out form found on page 5 of the Notice and return via email or post to the address on the notice for the Registry of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

OPTION 2 - DO NOTHING
If you do nothing, you will remain a group member in the class action and will be bound by any settlement or judgment. If the class action is successful, you may be entitled to claim compensation. The consequences of remaining a group member are set out in the Notice under the heading "What does 'opting out' mean?".
You do not need to do anything now if you want to participate in the Neds/Ladbrokes Class Action.
