A class action on behalf of persons suffering injury, damage or loss as a result of the St Patrick's Day fires that prompted evacuations across south-west Victoria.
The claim is against electricity supplier Powercor and alleges that the fires were caused by an electrical discharge between powerlines, with the resulting sparks or heat igniting dry vegetation at Terang, Victoria.
Group members wishing to register to participate in any settlement of the proceeding must provide a registration form in accordance with the registration notice, available below, by 4pm on 22 March 2019.
This proceeding is listed for a case management conference before the Honourable Justice John Dixon at 9:30am on 10 May 2019.
The proceeding is fixed for trial at Warrnambool on 21 October 2019, together with Francis v Powercor S CI 2018 01113.
