The Supreme Court webcasts certain trials and key ceremonies. Ceremonies captured include admissions ceremonies for new lawyers, welcome ceremonies for new judges and farewell ceremonies for departing judges.
Court of Appeal webcasting
From June 2017 the Court of Appeal commenced a six month pilot of making audio-visual recordings of hearings publicly available through its website. Some types of hearings are excluded from the pilot.
While all hearings are open to the public, footage is being provided to enable greater transparency and accessibility of hearings in the Court of Appeal.
The Court, from time to time, will webstream openings, parts of evidence or the entire case and judgments, in cases that are of significant interest and high profile. Please note that links for live webcasts appear within 24 hours of the broadcast.
The Court hears a number of class action trials that involve large sections of the community. To enable interested community members to watch proceedings, the Court webcasts opening addresses in most trials. Below is a list of live, or on demand, video and audio webcasts. Please note that links for live webcasts appear within 24 hours of the broadcast.
